Stuart McCord got into drumming aged four, when elder brother Tony bought him a toy drum one Christmas, prompting a predictable response  from their dad: "Thanks a lot, you've done me a right f***** favour there." An enthusiastic school drum tutor kept Stu hard  at work behind the kit and in the evenings he'd thump away to records  at home, until proper gigs took over. It's still what he loves best and looks forward to the most.

In 1999, almost straight after leaving secondary school, Stu formed the three-piece blues/rock band "On Remand" with elder brother Tony McCord - mostly covers with a handful of original songs thrown in. Also joined covers band "Ginger Flowers" in late 2001 - and has enjoyed large numbers of gigs with both during the past few years. He's been a regular face at the Thursday jam nights at the Portland Rock Bar in Hove for several years now, and remains partial to the occasional busked gig with various other bands when their regular drummers can't make it!He

Always listened to the Eagles, and one evening last year at  the Portland saw this great-sounding tribute  band who, as fate would have it, didn't have a regular drummer.  They asked if he'd come and have a bit of a jam and it went well.  Stu felt right at home with the band and the music and now gigs with Flyin' Eyes regularly.
