Alan Tomkins began his love affair with the piano  when his brother Introduced him to Elton John’s ‘Honky Chateau’. He didn’t realise what everyone else already knew - that rock gods (even 12 year old ones) don’t play keyboard  - too late, he was already hooked.

Played his first paid gig at 16 and been in bands  ever since - mostly covers (including a support spot for Brian Poole) but he’s always written and performed his own material as well. Famously played to a breathless audience of 34,000 people, though not all at the same time - he was in a band that regular played outdoors at Surrey Quays on London Marathon day.

One of the founders of Flyin Eyes, he’s  been discovering the full range of The Eagles music above and beyond the hits and apart from piano, plays a little ‘boxing gloves’ guitar and supplies backing vocals.
